Terms of Service

Nature of Services

Behavior consultation and parent education services are educational and consultative in nature. Services focus on helping caregivers understand behavior, identify contributing factors, and implement evidence-based strategies within their daily routines.

These services are designed to target specific behaviors one at a time and do not replace comprehensive treatment programs.

The services provided through this practice are parent education and parent  implemented Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy overseen by a BCBA. These services are not intended to be a comprehensive plan as defined by insurance providers, Medicaid, or state-funded programs.

  • No direct 1:1 treatment is provided to the child by an RBT / RLT or by the BCBA
  • No formal treatment hours are prescribed
  • No insurance billing is submitted
  • Services are private pay only

Participation does not establish a traditional therapist-client treatment relationship.

No Diagnosis or Medical Advice

Behavior consultation services:

  • Do not include medical, psychological, or psychiatric diagnosis
  • Do not replace care provided by a physician, psychologist, or other licensed healthcare provider
  • Do not involve medication recommendations or medical decision-making

Families are encouraged to maintain care with their child’s primary care provider and relevant specialists.

Coordination of care with other professionals is a provided service.

Parent-Implemented Strategies

All behavior strategies discussed are intended to be implemented by caregivers, not by the consultant directly.

Results depend on:

  • Consistency of implementation
  • Individual child factors
  • Environmental variables

Behavior change is not guaranteed, and timelines vary by family and situation.

Observation & Video Review

When video recordings are used:

  • Videos are provided voluntarily by caregivers
  • Videos are used solely for consultation and educational purposes
  • Videos are not shared or reused
  • No recordings are retained beyond  the consultation period unless explicitly agreed upon

Geographic & Licensure Considerations

Consultation services are provided in accordance with professional ethical standards and applicable state regulations.

  • Parent education may be offered across state lines.  Consultation services may be offered in the following states: Louisiana, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia
  • Services do not involve 1:1 therapy for the child
  • When applicable, services comply with licensure requirements of the consultant’s home state

Families are responsible for ensuring that participation in consultation services aligns with their local regulations.

No Emergency or Crisis Services

This practice does not provide emergency services.

If a child is experiencing:

  • Severe aggression
  • Self-injury
  • Safety risks
  • Mental health crisis

Please contact local emergency services, your child’s healthcare provider, or an appropriate crisis support service immediately.

Professional Credentials

Consultations are provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with experience in parent training, behavior support, and applied behavior analysis principles.

Services are guided by the BACB Ethics Code and evidence-based best practices.

Acknowledgment of Understanding

By scheduling services, families acknowledge that they:

  • Understand the consultative nature of services
  • Agree to private-pay terms
  • Understand the scope and limitations of behavior consultation
  • Accept responsibility for implementation of strategies
